The Studio
Spaces composed for light, ritual, and restraint.
Hanaya Atelier works with discerning clients who seek spaces that feel deeply resolved rather than merely decorated. From Kolkata and Bhubaneswar, we compose residential architecture, boutique hospitality, and workspace interiors shaped by proportion, local craftsmanship, and silent luxury.
Residences, apartments, boutique hospitality, and styling commissions across West Bengal.
Turnkey residences, villa interiors, and site coordination across Odisha.
Philosophy
Every decision should earn its silence.
We prefer fewer, better moves: an exact shadow gap reveal, a natural surface with authentic patina, a light source positioned precisely where the hand or eye naturally pauses. The studio’s work is modern, yet rooted in local Indian craft traditions; refined, yet deeply lived-in and welcoming.
Principles
How we compose spatial experiences.
Restraint
We believe in subtraction. By eliminating unnecessary ornamentation, we allow the raw architecture, the purity of light, and the organic textures of stone, lime plaster, and timber to occupy center stage.
Proportion
Proportion is the silent coordinator. We configure volumes, thresholds, and custom millwork to align perfectly with the human scale, fostering an immediate sense of equilibrium and ease.
Depth
True luxury has grain. We select materials that age beautifully—teak, flamed granite, raw brass, and open-pore travertine—bringing tactility, shadow contrast, and emotional resonance to every corner.
Leadership
Shaping the design direction.
